Eddie Dwayne "Piggy" Peay, known affectionately as Dwayne to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on Tuesday, August 20, 1968, in Russellville, Kentucky. Dwayne's life was one marked by deep love and commitment to his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 27 years, Angela Jones Peay, whom he married in the beautiful setting of Hawaii on June 30, 1997. Together, they created a life filled with joy and laughter. They was blessed with a daughter, AnaLeigh Faith Peay, who was the light of Dwayne's life. His love for her knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with her.
He was the beloved son of Tyler and Doris Embry Peay of
Morgantown, KY and a son-in-law to Jerry and Patricia Jones of
Morgantown, KY. Dwayne's life was also enriched by the close relationships he had with his nephews, Joshua and Jordan Peay both of
Morgantown, KY, and his brother-in-laws, Brad Jones (Gaylene) of
Morgantown, KY and Todd Jones (Jenn) of Evansville, Indiana, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Though he is preceded in death by his brother David Peay and his grandparents Dessie and Dadie Embry and Aubrey and Katie Peay.
Dwayne's professional life was marked by his dedicated service as a TVA operator, from which he retired after many years and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Beyond his work, Dwayne was a man of diverse interests and passions. He was an avid antiquer, always on the lookout for hidden treasures, he enjoyed fishing and was a animal lover at heart. Above all, Dwayne was a man who loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 12:00pm with Bro. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Huntsville Baptist Church Cemetery where Brad and Todd Jones, Easton Henderson, Josh and Jordan Peay and Sammy Ferrell will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am until funeral time at 12:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
