Eddie F. Whitton "Uncle Deedle" as all his nieces and nephews referred to him as, age 77, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Humble.
Born on February 25, 1948, in Conroe, Texas, to Jesse Earl Whitton and Jeanette Ashley Conner, Eddie was a proud Texan through and through. He grew up with a deep respect for family, service, and the outdoors, values that would define his life.
Eddie served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a time that shaped his resilience and strength of character. After his military service, he worked for Texaco as a supervisor, retiring after many years of dedicated service. A resident of Dayton for the past 25 years and formerly of Beaumont, Eddie was known for his warm spirit, unwavering loyalty, and his love of hunting and fishing. He cherished time spent outdoors and passed along many of his passions and stories to those lucky enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Cody Lynn Whitton and John Wayne Whitton, and his sister Norma Jean McKinney. Eddie leaves behind a legacy of love and memories. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Diana Renee Carlin; his cherished granddaughter, Megan Faith Carlin; and his treasured great-granddaughter, Jayla Lynn Leann Nanez. He is also remembered fondly by his nieces Donna Warman and Tamie Stones Whitton, along with numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Eddie's life was a testament to hard work, kindness, and devotion to family. Though he has departed this world, the echoes of his laughter and the warmth of his presence will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
