Mr. Edgar Dale Clise 88 of Randleman passed away Friday morning, October 10, 2025, at the Hospice House of Randolph surrounded by his family. Mr. Clise was a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry where he spent his entire career working with various companies in many roles. His career eventually brought him to North Carolina where he and his wife settled in the Randleman area. He enjoyed watching college football and rooting for the University of West Virginia Mountaineers. After Mr. Clise's working career, he enjoyed spending time gardening and dining out at his favorite restaurants on a quiet regular basis. He was married to the love of his life,Jo for 63 years before her passing in 2021 where together they raised 2 children. During the early years of raising a family, he enjoyed taking his family across country camping and exploring what nature had to offer.
Mr. Clise enjoyed his church family, New Salem United Methodist Church and was known as a very reserved man, where he believed "what is right" is right. He was a quiet man with a loud voice when spoken. Mr. Clise had a nickname, known by family and close friends as "Punk" but even today no one can account how he was tagged with such a name.
Mr. Clise is survived by 1 daughter Dianna Lynn Clise of Minneapolis, MN, 1 son Ronald Dale Clise (Zandy) of Goshen, IN, four grandchildren-Terra, Rachal-Elise, Eden and 3 Great-Grandchildren. One brother Robert "Bob" Clise (Sue) of Hagerstown, MD, two sisters Doris "Ruth" Thomas of Asheville and Rebecca Brashear of Kennesaw, GA.
A visitation for Mr. Clise will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main Street, Randleman, NC. Funeral services for Mr. Edgar Clise will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 16, 2025, at New Salem United Methodist Church, Randleman with the Rev. Steve Bergkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, NC.
The family request any charitable donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. Clise.
