Edith Lorraine Carlson

Edith Lorraine Carlson, age 84, of Blaine, Minnesota died Sunday, October 12, 2025. Edith was born December 26, 1940 in Kanabec County, Minnesota to Leslie Hyde and Lorna (Harms) Brown.
In the summer of 1956, Edith met Walt Carlson at a roller-skating rink. It was love at first sight. They dated for three weeks before they were united in marriage, a marriage that spanned almost 64 years. They made their home in Minneapolis, and later Coon Lake Beach before his work transferred them to Des Moines, Chicago and back to Minnesota. Upon their return they built a home in East Bethel and then Sunrise where they lived for 20 years. They then moved to Blaine, Minnesota.
She loved yarn work and passed on the love of yarn to many in her family. She had to give up her craft because of her health.
Edith is preceded in death by her husband Walt, son Rick, parents, step-father Ernest Brown, granddaughter Katie Carlson, son-in-law Michael Born, daughter-in-law Sandra Carlson, sister Anita (Brown) Weller, and brother Ralph Hyde. She will be deeply missed by children Bonita Born, Timothy Carlson, Jeanette (Kevin) Bussen, Kevin (Jennifer) Carlson, grandchildren, Brandon (Kriste) Carlson, Christopher (Rachelle) Born, Suzanna (Joshua) Annis, Kimberly (James) Morris, Molly (Mohamed) Elian Carlson, Steven (Samantha) Bebeau, Jeremy Bussen, Michael (Karla) Bussen, Leanna Carlson, Heather Carlson, Allysa (Jordan) Koch, Jessica (David) Gilbertson, twenty two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, November 15, with visitation one hour prior at Blaine Baptist Church, 46 117th Ave NE, Blaine, Minnesota. Interment Brunswick Cemetery, Mora, Minnesota.
