Edith Craig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services on Dec. 26, 2025.
Edith Wright Craig, 91, of Fairview, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. This would have been her and Jesse's 76th wedding anniversary.
Edith was born on July 8, 1934, in Buncombe County to the late Lunnie and Jannie Owenby Wright. After a longtime career at Beacon Manufacturing with over 40 years of service, Edith dedicated her retirement to the family she loved, especially her great-grandchildren. A faithful charter member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church for over 70 years, she was also known for her love of the outdoors where she enjoyed gardening and caring for her lawn. Edith leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion, and she will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Junior Craig; children, Lois Souther (Jimmy), Kay Harris, and Ronnie Craig (Sandy); and siblings, Oates Wright, Allene Craig, Thelma Russell, Maves Pack, Daniel Wright, and Carolyn Craig.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son-in-law, Ronnie Harris; siblings, James "Jay Bird" Wright and Martha Garrison; grandchildren, Bryan Craig (Mackenzie), Shane Harris (Becky), Kevin Craig (Alicia), and Jesse Craig (Mekenzie); great grandchildren, Logan Craig (Megan), Shaina Harris, Amaron Trull (Zachary), Kaylee Harris (Stephen), Olivia Craig (Miles), Bailey Craig, and Ty Craig; one great-great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm Harwood Home for Funerals. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the funeral home with Pastors Ronnie Harris and Andrew Parker officiating. The burial will be in Chestnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chestnut Hill Baptist Church – Cemetery Fund.
