Meadowview, VA - Edith "Meryl" Woodward Curd, age 72, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 20,2022. Meryl was a member of the River Bend Church of God and an avid online member of New Horizon Church. Meryl was preceded in death by her husband Godfrey Morris Curd, her parents Edward and Hettie Woodward, and her brother E.C Woodward.
Meryl leaves behind her four children, Gregory Morris Curd, Jeffrey Allen Curd, Jennifer Curd Chapman, and Lisa Curd McArter, all of Meadowview. Meryl also leaves behind her six grandchildren, Tanner Morris Curd, Taylor Nichole Chapman, Mackenzie Dawn Chapman, Ethan Chance Deel, Eli Morris Curd, and Rylee Grace Chapman, and one great granddaughter, Everly Mae Davis; three brothers, Darrel Woodward, Mack Woodward, Rusty Woodward; four sisters, Patricia Cox, Barbara Pierce, Betty Nickles, Sandra Swier; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Main Street chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Roger O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Fall Hill Cemetery with Greg Curd, Jeff Curd, Tanner Curd, Wayne Pierce, Gary Terry and Mark Terry serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Deel, Eli Curd, and Jarrad Fulton. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2022, at the funeral home.
