1939 - 2025

David Robert Curd; Age 86, of Rochester Hills, Michigan went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born, April 1, 1939, in Hazel Park, Michigan to Preston and Marjorie Curd (nee: Fuller). After his graduation from Hazel Park High School, David attended Wayne State University, Oakland University, and Eastern Michigan University earning a teaching certificate, a Master's Degree in Reading Education, and a Master's Degree in Counseling. David spent his career as a middle school English teacher, Reading Specialist, and Counselor for L'Anse Creuse Public Schools until his retirement.

David served the Lord for many years as an Adult Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and Elder. He served at Bethany Baptist Church in Clinton Township, MI and later served at Knox Presbyterian Church in Harrison Township, MI. In retirement, he was an active member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church and most recently welcomed and loved by the congregation of Calvary Chapel of Oakland County.

He is survived by his children Greg (Beth) Curd, Doug (Mary Ann) Curd, Janet (Vince) Ruggero, and Grandchildren Erin, Emma, and Philip Curd, Maggie, Benjamin, Catherine, and William Curd, and Rachel and Audrey Ruggero, brother Jonathan (late Martha) Curd and nephew Jonathan (Monica) Curd. David was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Harriet Niklas Curd.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 10-11am at Calvary Chapel of Oakland County, 1975 E. Long Lake Rd., Troy, MI 48085. Service will follow at 11am. Following cremation, he will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Crossroads Care Center (crossroadscarecenter.org).
