Edith "Ramona" (Kekec) Dayhoff, age 92, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at The Chapel 1500 Thornton Street, with Pastor Wayne Boydstun officiating. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Dustin Dayhoff, Peyton Lott, Cayden Lott, Troy Hounshell, A.J. Hounshell and Brad Stewart will serve as pallbearers.
Ramona was born on October 31, 1932, to John Fred Kekec and Edith Dorothy (Pugh) Kekec in Arma, KS. She grew up in Pittsburg, KS and was active in the First Baptist Church, the choir and youth groups. She belonged to Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls. Ramona graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1950 and worked as a bookkeeper following graduation. She married Dennis Dayhoff on November 21, 1951, in Pittsburg, KS. After they lived in Pittsburgh, Abilene, and Newton Kansas they moved to Clovis, NM in February of 1954 to open Dayhoff Shoes at 415 Main St. She was a member of Kingswood Methodist Church, belonged to BPOE Does and Altrusa Club for many years. She served on the Board of Clovis Food Bank for two years. She delivered Meals on Wheels for Alturas and First Methodist Church. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, gardening and canning.
Survivors include sons; Randy (Linda) Dayhoff of Lubbock, TX, Mark (Debbie) Dayhoff of Clovis, NM, daughters; Rhonda Webster of Lubbock, TX, Denise (Gary) Wall of Clovis, NM, Dana (Tom) Harmon of Clovis, NM, grandchildren; Denay (Troy) Hounshell of Lubbock, TX, Lindsey (Brad) Stewart of Lubbock, TX, Monica Lott of Clovis, NM, Dustin Dayhoff of Clovis, NM, great grandchildren; Ava, A.J., Peyton (Andrea), Cayden, Jaya, and great-great grandchildren; James and Nora. sister-in-law; Mary Kekec of Bonne Terre, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Fred and Edith Dorothy Kekec, and brother; John Kekec.
