Edith Carol Frecker, affectionately known to friends and family as Edie, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Zanesville, Ohio, at the age of 77. Born on July 5, 1947, in Corning, Ohio, Edie was a beloved presence in the lives of many and left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A woman of unwavering devotion, Edie found her greatest joy in loving her family. Her children were her everything, and she nurtured them with a boundless love that resonated throughout their lives. Her warm spirit and compassion were reflected in her commitment to family, creating an every-growing legacy of love that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Edie had a passion for sports, particularly Major League Baseball, where she could often be found cheering on her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. Her enthusiasm for the game was contagious, and she cherished the moments spent following the season and sharing in the highs and lows with those she loved. Additionally, Edie was a devoted dog lover, and her three beloved dogs were constant companions in her life, bringing her joy and comfort. They symbolized her nurturing nature and her ability to connect deeply with those around her, whether human or animal. As we remember Edith Carol Frecker, let us celebrate her unwavering love, her commitment to family, and the countless memories that will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was truly a remarkable woman whose spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives she touched.
Left behind to mourning her passing are her children, Tracy Frecker and Reed Frecker; her siblings, Connie Justice, Rose Hensler, Albert "Ab" (Debbie) Reed and David Reed, as well as a whole host of very special nieces and nephews.
Preceding Edith in death are her parents, Albert A. and Veldine M. (Francis) Reed and her siblings, Tom Reed, Sheldon Reed, Mark Reed and her infant sister, Cheryl Reed.
Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects from 11-1:00 PM, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Zion Christian Union Church, 15834 Portie-Flamingo Rd, Corning, OH 43730. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Monty Hurst officiating. Edie will be laid to rest in Zion Cemetery.
