Richard A. Whitehouse, known affectionately by friends and family as Rich, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at his residence in Crooksville, Ohio at the age of 69. Born on August 10, 1956, in Zanesville, Ohio, Rich grew to become a figure known for his loving nature, warm sense of humor, and a friendly demeanor that endeared him to all. A proud graduate of Crooksville High School's Class of 1974, Rich was a man who dedicated most of his working life to his community through his role as a Union Ironworker. His commitment to the wellbeing of the towns around him didn't cease upon retirement, as he continued to contribute to the Village of Roseville as a sanitation engineer. Rich also showcased his janitorial skills at the Roseville American Legion and selflessly served as the caretaker of the local cemeteries, ensuring that they remained places of peace and respect. Rich's affable personality and willingness to lend a hand were further reflected in his involvement with the Sons of the American Legion, Roseville Post 71. He valued the connections he made there and the shared commitment to service that the organization represented. Above all, Rich will be remembered as the loving father of Richelle (Jacob) Tabler and as the soul mate to Kim Whitehouse, the mother of his children. His joy was multiplied by the presence of his cherished grandchild, Nevaeh. Rich's sister, Debbie Hubbard, also survives him, continuing the legacy of their family's love and resilience. He was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Wesley Whitehouse and Richard "Harry" Whitehouse, as well as by his father Gerald Whitehouse, his mother Mona (Willison) Collins, his stepfather Jim Collins and his special buddy Danny Hubbard. Calling hours will be held Sunday October 12, 2025, from 11:00 am – 1:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville with a celebration of life taking place immediately following at the family home. A dignified cremation will take place following services and Rich will be laid to rest on the island of his pond joining many friends and family members that have gone before him.
