Publish in a newspaper

Clayton Allen Davis, 15, of Crooksville, left this world much too soon in the early hours on September 11, 2025, at his residence. Born on December 21, 2009, in Zanesville, Ohio, Clayton's zest for life and radiant spirit were evident from the beginning. His sudden departure leaves behind a community in mourning and a family cherishing his memory. Clayton's early life was marked by the strong bonds he shared with his loving family. He was the cherished son of Bobbi (Shane Baker) Wood and Wesley Davis and brother to Mylee, Taylor, and Lilley. He also leaves behind maternal grandparents Linda (Aaron) Snyder and Gary Wood, paternal grandparents Debbie Love and Tom Lamp, aunt and uncles Amanda (Jeremiah) Wisecarver and Tyler (Burgundy) Snyder, great grandma Joann Chevalier, cousins Dakota, Khloe and Kali, special buddies Cam and Ryan along with a host of friends and Chevalier and Wood cousins and extended family. At the time of his passing, Clayton was a sophomore at Crooksville High School, where he was well-liked by his peers and teachers alike. His academic journey was just one aspect of a life filled with diverse interests and passions. Clayton's work as a sandwich artist at Subway was a role he took pride in, showcasing his friendly demeanor and his knack for brightening the day of everyone he met. Clayton's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water's edge, basking in the tranquility of nature. His love for old country music was well known, and his talent for playing the guitar was a joy for all who had the pleasure of listening. Clayton's discipline and commitment to personal fitness were evident to anyone who saw him at the gym or riding his minibike and lawn mowers through town. He was also a keen basketball player, and his training in boxing was a steppingstone toward his dream of becoming an MMA fighter. Those who know Clayton will remember his kind heart and his eagerness to lend a hand. He was always ready to help out, whether it was a small favor or a significant act of kindness. His legacy will be one of generosity, warmth, and the countless ways he made the world a better place by simply being in it. Clayton's untimely departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. His spirit, however, will continue to inspire and influence all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Clay Davis. Calling hours will be Monday September 15, 2025, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11am with Pastor Don Harris officiating. Clayton will be laid to his eternal rest in Iliff Cemetery, McLuney.
