Mrs. Edith Rosalie Griffith, 93, beloved wife of the late Mitchell Reid Griffith Sr, entered into rest on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
The family invites friends to gather for a celebration of life at the family home at 4335 Three J Road on November 24, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. She will be buried in Bridgewater, Virginia at the Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Edith was a native of Spring Creek, Virginia, one of twelve children born to Walter and Sallie Click. She met the love of her life, Mitchell Griffith, and they were married in 1950. They had sixty-six wonderful years together before his death in 2016. She was a customer service representative at BB&T Bank for many years until her retirement and was actively involved with the American Legion and the VFW.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Griffith, Brenda Proctor, Kathy Elledge (Mike) and Mitchell Griffith, Jr. (Debbie), along with her grandchildren, Jason Lowe (Joy), Mitchell Griffith III (Haley), Brett Griffith (Lucia), Christy Lowe (Keith), Michael “Scooter” Proctor, Julie Johnson (Brent), and Traci Banks (Wayne). She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell and all of her brothers and sisters, her fur baby, Smokey the cat, and a granddaughter, Brenda Violette.
