Edith Jackson was born August 19, 1928, in Richmond, VA to the late Pearl and Jurod Brown.

She was educated in the Richmond Virginia Public School System. She later moved with her parents and siblings to East Moriches, Long Island, NY where she lived for many years.

Edith met Lawrence Daniel "Big Larry" Jackson while he was stationed in Long Island,

NY. They were married on August 4, 1956. That union produced two sons, Lawrence,

Jr. and Mark, Sr. They ultimately made their home in Plainfield, NJ where she resided

for 60 years.

Her hobbies included making and painting ceramics and sewing as well as her

occasional trips to AC with family and friends. She retired from Pathmark after 30 years

of service, starting as a Cashier and ending as a Horticultural Manager.

On August 12, 2025, Edith transitioned at home with her son, Larry by her side. She

was 96 years old and would have celebrated her 97 th birthday on August 19 th .

Edith was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence D. Jackson, Sr., her father and

mother, Jurod and Pearl Brown, sister, Theresa Johnson, brothers, Clifford and Leroy

Brown and son, Thomas Brown.

Edith leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Lawrence D., Jr. and Mark V., Sr. (Shelli);

her sisters, Sarah Mayo, Doris Myers, Judy Barlow Long (Brenson) and Mary Harris;

her sister-in-law, Barbara Brown and her brother-in-law, Henry Jackson; grandchildren,

Christopher, Larry, Jayson, Amber, Jada, Mark, Jr., Briana, Jordan; great-grandchildren,

Bria, Cade, Kiyannah, Morgan, Jaiden, Cameron, Aria and a host of nieces, nephews,

dear relatives and friends.
