Poletha Eudora "Eurudine" Griffith, 95, of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter, Agnes, on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 p.m.

Eurudine was born on February 25, 1930, in Mount Standfast, Saint James, Barbados. She was the eldest of eight who preceded her in death. Two boys at childbirth, and one as a young lady. Her surviving siblings, Gweneth Francis, Loretta Lorraine Griffith, lan Griffith and Patricia Jeanette Griffith-Walrond. all lived a full life.

For many years, she worked as a breakfast cook at the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados before migrating, first to London, Ontario, Canada, and later to Brooklyn, New York, where she worked as a home health aide. In every role, she served with compassion, dedication, and grace, treating others with the kindness usually reserved for family.

Eurudine was the beloved mother of Leroy Henderson "Hendy" Griffith, Joslyn Howell, and Agnes Griffith; who survive her to carry on her legacy. She was the cherished grandmother of Shawn, Greg, Lee, Roy Jr., Jamell, Romell, Jeremy, Richard, and Kimberly, and great-grandmother of Olivia and Lali. She lived to see most of her grandchildren attend college, with several earning advanced degrees.

In her later years, she moved to New Jersey to be closer to her daughter, Agnes, who lovingly wrapped her in care for many years until her passing.

She will be laid to rest in her beloved homeland of Barbados, where her ashes will be interred.
