Alice Lucille Jackson, age 79 of Martinez, passed away peacefully into the presence of our heavenly Father on Monday, August 19, 2025. She was born on December 22, 1945, to Grady and Irma Fuller in Appling, Georgia. Alice had three brothers and one sister. She married Loyd Jackson on December 28, 1963, in Augusta, Georgia. They were blessed to celebrate 55 years together.
She worked as a stockroom clerk for J.C. Penney for 29 years. Following her retirement, she continued to share her kindness and cheerful spirit as a cafeteria worker with the Columbia County School System. During this time, she formed many cherished friendships that brought much joy.
Alice was known for her servant’s heart, unwavering kindness, and gentle spirit. She always placed the needs of others before her own. Her life was a testament to compassion, loving deeply, and generosity. She left a legacy of grace in every heart she touched. Her love for people was evident in the way she uplifted those around her.
Alice is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loyd Jackson; her sister, Sylvia Parrish; her brother, James Fuller; and her parents, Grady and Irma Fuller.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Melanie (Bryan) Pagan; grandsons, Grant (Palmer) Pagan and Garrett Pagan; brothers, W. C. (Wynona) Fuller and Hugh Fuller; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grant Pagan, Garrett Pagan, Grady Fuller, Andy Quarles, Bo Quarles, and Jason Parrish, Jr., Connor Parrish will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 22, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM at Damascus Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia. Pastor Drew Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
