Gloria Jean Coleman Langston passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 77 in Lincolnton, Georgia. Born on August 11, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia to the late Edward and Helen Johnson Coleman.
A proud graduate of Evans High School, Gloria's radiant smile and beautiful presence led her to be crowned Homecoming Queen. Her academic achievements were only the beginning of a life characterized by dedication and service to others. For many years, Gloria was a valued member of both the St. Joseph's Hospital staff in Augusta and a hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina where she worked in medical billing. Her meticulous attention to detail and her compassionate approach to her work were appreciated by both her colleagues and the patients she served. Beyond her professional endeavors, Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures of life including a love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for fishing and shrimping, activities that she enjoyed during the two decades she lived on the ocean in Beaufort, South Carolina. The tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch were sources of endless delight for Gloria. Gloria's legacy is carried on by her sons, Gordon Watkins (Christina) of Harlem, and Jeff Watkins (Kendra) of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Joshua, Chase, and Dalton Watkins and brothers, Larry Coleman and Terry Coleman. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Coleman.
