Edith M. Ouellette (Cahill), 81, of Nashua, NH transitioned peacefully 'home' on September 14th, 2025. Born Nov. 5, 1943, to an Irish father John P. Cahill of Dorchester, and Edith Cahill (Husselbee) a lovely English woman in Vallejo, California while John was in the service stationed there. Edith grew up in Dorchester, Mass. and attended St. Patrick's Catholic school. After graduation she went to Northeastern to become a drafting major and met Fred Ouellette. The two married, and along with 2 children moved to Nashua in 1966. Edith lived the rest of her life in the home the children were raised in.

Edie was hardworking and maintained multiple jobs at one time, along with juggling single parenting. She didn't mix words and was very straightforward when expressing her opinions, but also had a great sense of humor and a quik wit. Her main employment was in the office at Law Warehouse, and also welcoming guests at the Holiday Inn, Nashua front desk, becoming good friends with the staff at Killarney's. She worked various other jobs and was in the school system serving lunches. In 1977 Edie was a co-coach the first year Nashua began hosting youth soccer. Edie was a supporter of the arts and also loved animals. She adored Elvis Presley and in her final days listened to his music. She was active in the Emblem Club and also the Elks, putting on dinners and events. She is predeceased by her daughter Diane Garwood (Ouellette), her parents John and Edith and step-father Robert Fratus.

Edie leaves behind many friends and co-workers, her Granddaughter Susan Garwood and son-in- law, Michael Garwood of Manchester, NH. Her son, John Ouellette and fiancé' Sarah George. Sister Joanne Cooney and husband Bernard, nieces and nephews: Brian Cooney, his wife Lee Ann, (and daughters Nicole and Alyssa), Keith Cooney and partner Joanne, (daughters Katie, Madison, Lucyanna, and Calleigh), Karen Cooney and her stepson Christopher. Edie also leaves her ex-husband Fred and his loving wife Cindy who became good friends after Susan was born. Her step-sisters, Mary Casey and husband Larry, Jean Crozier/husband William, Roberta Cheverier/ her husband Warren and many grand nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life may occur in the future, and will be posted here if so. Donations can be made in her memory to Home Health and Hospice Care, St. Jude's, and Humane Society of Nashua.
