Bernice G. Barnes, age 94, of Nashua, NH, passed away on September 10, 2025. She was born on October 3, 1930, the daughter of Charles E. and Mabel (Lund) Goss of Dunstable, MA. She was the widow of Lloyd I. Barnes, who passed away on January 17, 2005.

She grew up in Dunstable, Massachusetts and although she had lived in Vermont, Massachusetts, and in New Hampshire, she has always considered Dunstable her home. Bernice helped her husband clear the land and build their home in Dunstable. She is a graduate of Lowell High School. She joined the Dunstable Congregational Church in 1944. She was active in the church and was a Sunday School Superintendent for 10 years. She was Town Treasurer, drove school buses and was Past Master of the Dunstable Grange. One of her greatest achievements was Chairman of the Dunstable Tercentenary Committee and arranging for the Mayor of Dunstable, England to attend. She and her husband spent many summers at their summer home in Lunenburg, Vermont and children, grandchildren and friends were always welcomed. She is a retiree of IBM and a current member of the First Church in Nashua.

Besides her loving husband, Mrs. Barnes was predeceased by two brothers Irvin R. Sullivan, and Charles E. Goss Jr.

Survivors include her children, Dana E. Barnes and wife Mary Jane of Dunstable, MA, Diane B. Tully of Milford, NH, Gary L. Barnes of Orangeburg, SC and Gwyn B. Grassett of Franconia, NH, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, two brothers, Russell E. Goss, of Nashua, and Donald E. Goss of Ayer, MA. Several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held at the First Church, 1 Concord St, Nashua, NH on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend.
