Joan Johnston Green, 91, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025 at her home in Nashua, New Hampshire. She was born on July 5, 1934, in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of Elmer and Evelyn (Winslow) Johnston.

She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1956. That same year she married her husband Louis Bernard Green, with whom she shared 59 years of love and partnership until his passing in 2015. Over this time they built a remarkable life together, living in California, Florida, and Massachusetts before settling in New Hampshire in 1992.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was intelligent, poised, and excelled at the many hobbies she took up over the course of her lifetime. Her favorites included gourmet cooking, sewing and quilting, interior design, painting, scrapbooking, and cardmaking. Recipes like her New Years paella have become holiday traditions, and her travel scrapbooks and birthday cards are cherished family keepsakes.

Joan was a lifelong learner and always sought out new experiences, whether exploring the world, experimenting in the kitchen, or mastering a new craft. She eagerly shared her passion for travel, the arts, and culture with her beloved family.

She is survived by her children Judy and her husband Joe Gamache, and Beth and her husband Tony Iuliano; her grandchildren Michael Gamache, Ben Iuliano, and Lea Iuliano; and her great-granddaughter Naomi Brinson. Joan will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
