Edith Preisach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home - Turtle Creek on Jul. 21, 2023.
Obituary
Of Turtle Creek, formerly of North Braddock, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 26, 1929, to the late William J. and Edith L. (Winwood) Corcoran, Edie lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of many with her friendly, generous, and loving spirit.
Edie was the cherished wife of the late Charles "Hambone" Preisach and a devoted mother to her five children, Richard (Margaret) Preisach, Robert (Paula) Preisach, Deborah Schmeltz, Russell (Carrie) Preisach, and the late Ronald Preisach. She was also a proud grandmother to Ronald Preisach, Robin (Ronald) Gehry, Misty (Gregory) Parshall, Jaclyn (David) Seaman, April (Nicholas Evanchec) Preisach, Amy (William) Schleifer, James (Jolene) Preisach, and Charles (Tracy) Schmeltz. Edie was also the adored great-grandmother of 16 and great-great-grandmother of 3. She was the sister of the late William J. Corcoran.
Edie's professional life was spent as a Circuit Board Manufacturer for the Westinghouse Plant in West Mifflin, where she worked for over 15 years before retiring.
Edie was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an accomplished artist, with her notable paintings and drawings adorning the walls of her home and the homes of her loved ones. Her artistic skills also extended to the kitchen, where she was a skilled baker and cake decorator. Edie's cakes were the highlight of many family gatherings and celebrations.
Edie loved playing cards and bingo with her friends. She was also an avid traveler, exploring both domestically and internationally. Some highlights of her trips included watching the 4th of July fireworks below Mt. Rushmore, climbing the glaciers in Alaska, and table dancing in the islands of Hawaii. Despite her many interests and hobbies, what Edie loved most was her family. She was a constant presence at family gatherings, always embracing those around her with a warm smile. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and in the many lives she touched throughout her life.
Friends are welcome Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350, where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Edie will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery.
