Rose Marie Maceno, age 95, of White Oak, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was born in McKeesport, PA on December 3, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Larry and Mary Guagliargo Simonetta. She was the wife of the late Edward Otroba. Rose was a 1948 graduate of McKeesport Area High School and later was employed as a hostess at various restaurants, including at the former Holiday House for almost two decades. She had a passion for traveling and oversaw coordinating trips that went all over the country as a tour guide. Rose also loved going to casinos to play poker, especially Wheeling Island Casino, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and dancing. She was a member of the North Versailles and East McKeesport Seniors and volunteered at bingo at the East Pittsburgh Post Two American Legion for over seventeen years.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Debbie) Otroba of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Cheryl (the late Richard) Rose of Holbrook, PA; grandchildren, Lauren (Darren) Geller; Joel Otroba; great-grandchildren, Oakley Rose Geller; Prestyn Geller; closest niece, Barbara (Eddie) Bavolar who she relied on in her later years; and many other nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouse, Rose was preceded in death by her siblings, James (the late Della) Simonetta; Joseph (the late Mildred) Simonetta; Frank (the late Norma) Simonetta; Gloria (the late Edward) Bavolar; and Mary Ann (the late Larry) Kemp.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Rose’s memory on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). An entombment will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
