Edith J. (Conaway-Lange) Srnka, age 81, a resident of Woodcrest Retirement Center in Moon Twp., PA and formerly of Erie. Passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. She was born in Erie on November 30, 1942, a daughter of the late Raymond and Diana (Scalzzti) Conaway and her adopted father the late, Aloysius Lange who raised her.
She graduated from nursing school in 1981 and went on to work as a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for 16 years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church. In her free time, she enjoyed a game of bingo, crocheting and playing cards with her friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband Lawrence Srnka Sr. in 2009.
Edith is survived by her daughter Lisa Ann Srnka and her fiancée, Fred Jezzi of Pittsburgh; sons, Larry Srnka, Jr., wife Beth of Northfield, OH, and Christopher Srnka of Illinois; grandchildren Race Mahoney of Florida and Jack Mahoney of New Jersey; sister, Cheryl Ann Lopez of Florida and her children, Tracey and Rickey and their families. She is further survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street. A service will be held there Saturday at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
