Edith May Vugrinec

Edith May (née Croker) Vugrinec, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, passed away on October 14, 2023 peacefully at her home at the age of 91.
Edie was born on May 21, 1932 in Eagle River, Wisconsin. She was married to Nick Vugrinec on June 18, 1949. Edith was employed at several grocery stores including A&P, Del's, The Meating Place and Northland Pines Food Service. She also worked at the family business, Croker Electric and then Eagle Electric. Edie volunteered at the polling station for the local and national elections for many years.
Edie adored her family and was a loyal friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, camping playing cards, snowmobiling and was an avid reader. She loved celebrating and decorating for all the holidays. She was a supporter of the Special Olympics.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas G. Vugrinec and infant daughter, brother Thomas Croker, sister Mary Ranta and sister Phyllis Braun, her parents Ann and Thomas Croker.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Ellen (Ray) Schmidt, son Nicholas T. (Cindy), daughter Barb and son Alan Vugrinec. Grandchildren are Julie (Mark) Richter, Heather (TJ) Kramsvogel, Angela (Joe) Aschenbrenner, Katie (Todd) Demski, Nicholas (Sara) Vugrinec, Kimberly (Todd) Koritzinsky. Great grandchildren are Ally and Jenny Richter, Hannah and Logan Kramsvogel, Evan Burke, Gavin, Jacob and Kyler Demski, Elin and Adelyn Koritzinsky. She is also survived by two brothers Daniel (Sue) Croker and Edward (Joy) Croker.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday October 20, 2023 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
