It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna "Jeanne" Mae Bricker, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, who departed this life on October 22, 2025, at the age of 90. Jeanne was born to Arthur and Edna Mae (Pfiefer) Weitzel on July 28, 1935, in New Providence, New Jersey, and spent her later years in Springfield, Missouri.
Jeanne's life was a beautiful tapestry woven from love, kindness, and devotion. She was married to Jerry Bricker on June 11, 1960. A dedicated homemaker, she devoted herself to fostering a nurturing and caring environment for her husband Jerry and her children, John and Alisa. She was the proud mother-in-law to Ruth Bricker and James Vizethann, embracing each with open arms and a warm heart. Jeanne understood the importance of family and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Known for her thoughtfulness, Jeanne's kindness was a shining light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her. Her compassion and selflessness were evident in her interactions with others, where she made it a point to always lend an ear or a helping hand, reflecting a spirit that was truly generous.
She raised awareness of the Bible in the deaf community of Springfield by interpreting Scripture and lending her time to The Scripture Sign Project.
Jeanne enjoyed various hobbies, including crocheting and quilting, often handcrafting beautiful gifts filled with love for her family and friends. She took joy in creating tangible expressions of her affection, each stitch a testament to her caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arthur Weitzel.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Jerry Bricker, two children and their spouses John Mark and Ruth Bricker and Alisa Lee and James Vizethann; eight grandchildren Daniel (Melanie), Taylor (David), Sarah (Myles) Phoebe, Joshua, Jacob, James, and Conner (Kadie) as well as eight great-grandchildren Reid, Vivian, Brooklyn, Jack, Evelyn, Benjamin, Josephine and Gideon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Deaf Missions in Council Bluff, IA, reflecting Jeanne's generous spirit. Jeanne will remain in our hearts forever, her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all of us who knew her.
