Edna Cadeau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 8, 2025.
Edna E. Cadeau, a cherished matriarch and beacon of love, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Troy, Michigan. Born in Hoey Saskatchewan, Canada on September 30, 1924, Edna's life was a testament to the virtues of faith, selflessness, and gentleness.
Edna grew up in the small Hamlet of Hoey Saskatchewan, where she completed her high school education, laying a foundation of lifelong learning and curiosity. Her academic achievements were just the beginning of a life marked by dedication and service to those she loved. Edna's role as a devoted mother was her most cherished occupation, and she embraced it with every fiber of her being. Her tireless efforts to nurture and care for her family were evident in every meal she prepared and every life lesson she imparted.
In addition to her role as a mother, Edna was an expert baker. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and the sweet aroma of freshly baked goods, where she conjured up delectable treats that brought joy to family gatherings and community events. Her hands, always busy, were never too full to lend help or to fold in prayer. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and comforting her in times of need.
Edna's hobbies, such as knitting and needlepoint, were not only a source of personal enjoyment but also a means of expressing her love. The intricate patterns and vibrant colors of her creations were reflections of the care she put into every stitch. Edna and her husband, Don enjoyed inviting friends over for a spirited game of Pinochle, followed by a fresh cup of coffee and one of Edna's delectable desserts.
Those who knew Edna will fondly remember her as a woman of great faith. Her selfless nature was evident in the way she put the needs of others before her own, and her loving spirit was felt in every hug, every word of encouragement, and every sacrifice she made for her family. She was the embodiment of kindness and generosity, leaving a legacy that will be honored and cherished by all.
Edna is survived by a family who adored her: her sons, Donald (Wynne) Cadeau and Ronald Cadeau; her daughter, Cheryl (Steven) Hartwig; and her beloved granddaughter, Raquel Mead. The tapestry of her life is interwoven with the love and memories they shared, and her influence will continue to be felt through the generations.
As we bid farewell to Edna E. Cadeau, we celebrate a life well-lived and well-loved. Her journey on earth has concluded, but the impact of her life's work remains. She has left us an inheritance of love and faith that will never fade. Edna's story is not one of an end, but a beautiful reminder that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. We take solace in the knowledge that she rests now in eternal peace, cradled in the loving arms of her Creator. Her life was a gift to us, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
