Edna Annette (Cooper) Camp, 82, of Yulee, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1943, in Fernandina Beach, FL to Joseph William Cooper and Minnie Crews Cooper.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Rodney M. Camp; and her brothers, Farrell Cooper and Gilbert Cooper.
She is survived by her two children, Robert (LeaAnn) Camp and Cheryl (James Guy) Price; daughter of her heart, Lori Fair; grandchildren, Garrett (Tanita) Van Dorsten, Leslie (Jeremy) Humphrey, Casey (Justice) Omeke, and Jacob Camp; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edsel (Charlotte) Cooper; sister-in-law, Bonnie Cooper; and several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Edna retired as a custodian for the Nassau County School Board and also worked as a devoted door hostess at Waffle House, where she was known for her friendly smile and warm hospitality. She loved meeting new people, striking up conversations with strangers, and learning about the patrons who came through the door. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 54, where she took great pride in supporting her community.
A breast cancer survivor, Edna was passionate about spreading awareness and hope to others. She loved music, traveling, thrift shopping, and expressing her unique sense of style-always accessorized and adding her own special touch to everything she wore. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee, Florida, with visitation at 1:00 p.m., followed by graveside services at 2:00 p.m.
