"Unconditional Love"
Most say your first true love is the love of your mother, and we know this to be true. You were never ours to have but we thank God, he gave us you.
Edna "Ruth" Clifton was born on February 4, 1964, to Tilmon "Dude" Clifton and Inez Clifton in Cleveland, MS. She was born and raised in Mound Bayou, MS for most of her life. Edna later moved to Texas where she resided until October 29, 2025, when God called her home.
Edna blessed the world with five beautiful children, Lesha Clifton, Albert Jermaine Clifton, Demetrice Clifton, Albert Jason Clifton, Reginald Clifton, and twelve grandchildren. Her greatest gift besides being a wonderful mother was the love she gave. During her time on earth, she left a huge impact on our hearts and our lives. She had a caring spirit and never hesitated to help when called upon. Her life will be remembered by most, but for those of us that knew her well our lives will never be the same.
We were truly blessed to have her, she was the best Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Friend to us. Always giving the best love and care that God bestowed upon her to give. As a mother her love was so strong that she didn't need words. All it took was one look and we knew everything would be okay.
Mama, you will always be remembered as our "Ride or Die". If we didn't say it enough, we love you, we miss you, we thank you, and you did an amazing job. Now the curtains have closed, and it's time for you to rest. There are no more suffering and no more pain. You fought your best fight until your very last breath. "Ruth" in my Muhdear voice, rest easy and take your bow. Once again, we love you!! It's never goodbye so I'll say until we meet again.
To our one true love and our very best friend.
