Edna S. Donor
Edna S. Donor, age 98, of Apopka, FL, formerly a longtime resident of Erie, passed peacefully into her Heavenly Home, at the home she shared with her daughter and son in law, on Monday, April 22, 2024. She was born in Corry, PA on August 20, 1925, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Swanson.
Edna loved visits and phone calls with her family and friends. While still living in Erie, she enjoyed spending time with friends she met at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant along with bowling, crafts, and travel. She was very involved, as a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, first with Betsy Ross and then Gridley Chapter #324 O.E.S. Going out to share a meal with friends and family was a cherished activity. Edna spent time each day on Facebook keeping up with her family. She was an avid reader and cross stitcher. Many friends and family were blessed to receive one of her beautiful projects.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Donor; stepmother, Florence Swanson; brother, Robert Swanson; sister, Alma Bonney; grandson, Jeffrey Donor; and great-grandson, Jacob Phail.
Edna is survived by her children, Sue (Bob) Ring of Howell, MI, Bill (Dee) Donor of Erie, Pete (Terry) Donor of Dundee, OR and Debbie (Rich) Lambert of Apopka, FL; along with bonus daughter, Beth (Steve) Best of Lawrence Park; her grandchildren, Ellen (Rob) Phail, Chris (Amanda) Ring, Kara (Craig) Pritchett, Pat Donor, Jenny (Tyler) Donor, Brian (Sara) Lambert, Jeff (Karin) Lambert, Chris (Jody) Vitarelli, Josiah (Hannah) Donor, Micah (Tai) Donor, Noah Donor and Hannah Donor, along with 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Edna also loved her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family is thankful for the care Edna received from Emelie and Denise, caregivers from Gentiva Hospice.
Friends may gather at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday, June 29th from 11 am until the time of Closing Prayers there at 1 pm. A private interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made in Edna's memory to either The Road Community Church, 301 E. South Holly Road, Fenton, MI 48430 or any hospice organization of your choice.
