Edna Eyerly Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 9, 2025.
Edna Margaret (Gerber) Eyerly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Woodhaven Retirement Community in Livonia, Michigan. She was 91.

She was born January 6, 1934 in Mansfield to parents Nicholas and Margaret (Gutwein) Gerber. Edna grew up in the Mansfield area and graduated from Mansfield Senior High with the class of 1952. On November 20, 1954, she married the love of her life, David Edward Eyerly, Sr. Together they shared nearly 68 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2022.

Edna lovingly devoted herself to her family and home. She and David found joy in traveling, camping and boating but Edna especially enjoyed any time spent with their children and grandchildren. She was a talented homemaker who cared deeply for her family and was an excellent cook and baker.

She worked in her parents business, Gerber Cleaners. She was instrumental in starting Mid-Ohio Cleaning & Supply. She also helped in the family business The Royal Touch Vacuum Sales & Service.

A woman of steadfast faith, Edna was baptized in January 1969 alongside her husband at the Apostolic Christian Church, where the couple remained active and faithful members throughout their lives. She cherished her church family and was always eager to lend a helping hand.

She is survived by her children Melinda (Todd) Lanski of Farmington Hills, MI, Melani Eyerly of Mansfield, David (Angela) Eyerly of Ontario, Daniel (Lolita) Eyerly of Lexington, and Angela Goldsmith of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Katherine Lanski, Meredith Lanski (fiancé Steven Jackson), Kelly Eyerly, Robin (Andrew) Simul, Brooke Eyerly (fiancé Luke Moore), Brittany Eyerly, Nicholas (Alora) Eyerly, Sydney Eyerly, Lauren Yorga, and Aubrey Goldsmith (fiancé Matthew Marxelly); 1 great-grandson Malakai Marxelly; sister-in-law Suzette Eyerly; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David; daughter Nancy Catron; and brother Louis J. Gerber and sister Ruth White.

The Eyerly family will receive friends Friday, September 12, 2025 from 10-11 am in the Apostolic Christian Church, 84 Illinois Ave, Mansfield, Ohio where a funeral service honoring Edna's life will begin promptly at 11 am. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
