Edna Stephens Moore (76) of Trenton, GA, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, September 9, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Hershel Wayne Moore. A much-loved “Mama” and “Nuna”, she leaves behind her children, Bobby Moore (Brianna), Edie Saenz (Ricky), Andrea Moore, and Michael Moore, as well as eight cherished grandchildren; Marcail, Bridget, Arianna, Dakotah, Madi, Tara, Cameron, and Addison. Other surviving family members include two sisters (Juanita Wood and Carolyn Howard), one brother (Bufford Stephens), sister-in-law Latricia Stephens, brother-in-law Buddy Moore, several nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.

A lifelong resident of Sand Mtn, she was known to many for being a founding member of the Davis Fire Department, cafeteria worker at both Davis Elementary and Dade Co High School, bus driver for over forty years, competitive softball player, and singer for The Woodlawnaires. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, which she attended faithfully and joyfully. Pastimes and interests include listening to Southern Gospel music, planting flowers and gardening, spending time with her sisters, playing cards with dear friends, being involved in church activities, and attending various events to support and cheer on her grandchildren, where she became “Nuna” to their friends, as well. Edna will be remembered for her love of Jesus and her kids, her kindness and humor, and the joy she took in caring for others.

A funeral service to honor Edna's life will be held on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Baptist Church, with Brother Jonathan Witt officiating.  Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Fort Payne, AL.

Visitation will be held at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Please join us in celebrating a life well lived and loved.
