Edna Ruth formerly of the Grays Creek community, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2024.
She was born June 19, 1929 in Cumberland County and was the daughter of the late William "Britt"  Riddle and Alberta "Bert" Canady Riddle.  Preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Lyle Rehard, daughter, Clara Mae Rehard.  Siblings, Annie Grace Smith, William Britt Riddle, Jr., Rebecca Edwards, Charles Riddle and Lowell Riddle.
Edna is survived by her loving children, Annie Ruth Rehard, Margaret Stone and Steven Rehard.  Grandchild, Chad Grayson and great grandchild, Chloe Grayson, Siblings, Bruce Riddle, Sylvia Fisher, Florida Davis, Knox Riddle and a host of relatives and friends.
Edna graduated from the North Carolina School for the deaf in 1950.  She was May Queen and inducted to the school's basketball Hall of Fame. 
Edna's journey took a poignant turn when she met and married the love of her life, Wilbur Lyle.  Their union was a testament to enduring love and together built a life filled with joys and sorrows.  They faced life's challenges hand in hand, creating a bond that not even death could break, tragically, experiencing the heartache of losing their beloved daughter, Clara Mae.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who will be forever cherished and missed by many.
A special thanks to the staff at Hope Springs Assisted Living & Scotland Regional Hospice for their care of Mrs. Rehard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church 3184 County Line Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
