Robert Sterling Marble, 80, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away Thursday February 19, 2026.
He was the son of the late Sterling H. and Mary (Darmofalski) Marble. He grew up in Seneca Falls, New York. Robert served 22+ years in Army Special Forces. He was a Vietnam War veteran. After retiring from the Army, he continued working another 25+ years in civil service for the Department of Defense starting at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina before moving on to the United States Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.
Outside of work, he enjoyed bass fishing and watching westerns and war movies.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pranorm (Pat) Marble; sons, Robert (Rita) Marble and Stephen Marble; grandsons, Robert (Brianna) W. Marble and Ty Marble; great grandson, Oliver Marble; brother, Stephen (Lynne) Marble; sister, Marilyn Williams; along with several other family members, most of which are in upstate New York. He will be missed.
