Edna Lucille Schlueter, known affectionately as Lucy, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Temple, Texas. Born on April 13, 1934, in Bell County, Texas, Lucy lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her career. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, October 14th, 2023, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Lucy dedicated many years of service to the Baylor Scott and White Hospital Audit Department. Her commitment and attention to detail were unmatched. She was not only respected by her colleagues but also admired for her strong work ethic. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lucy's true legacy lies in the lives she touched and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Fred L. White and Edna Mable Thompson White; brother, Freddie Earl White; sister, Laura White Cullison; and daughter, Connie Jean Horton. Those left to cherish her memories are her devoted daughters, Christie Leigh Medrano-Portillo, and Cheryl Ann Canter; loving sister, Mary Underwood; grandsons, Bradly Johnson, Chad Horton, Ty-Horton, Andy Canter, Chase Canter; granddaughters, Haleigh Schlueter, and Cene Cleaton; and 14 great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, October 13th, 2023, at the funeral home.
