Edna Loretta Van Driest, 87, of Ashland, died January 10, 2025 at her residence.
Edna was born December 5, 1937 in Holmes County, Ohio to Walter and Gladys Loretta {Brown} Bittle.
Edna graduated from Ashland High School.
She married Henry Van Driest on December 24, 1957.
Edna retired from UBrand after 23 years, she then worked Ashland University as a custodian for 6 years. Following that she worked at Walmart in Ashland for 12 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Ashland. Edna was a giving person who always put others before herself. She was devoted to her husband and family. She liked watching and feeding the hummingbirds at her house, going out to eat and the lunches at church. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids. Edna also enjoyed spending time outside her house enjoying the sunshine in the summer.
Edna will be deeply missed by her husband; children Pamela Van Driest of Jeromesville, OH, Dale Van Driest of Ashland, OH, Tina Kiplinger of Ashland, OH, Randy Van Driest of Ashland, OH; grandchildren Shaun Van Driest, Jeremy Van Driest, Chad Van Driest, Adam Van Driest, Skylar Van Driest, Brittani Van Driest, Travis Buhl; great-grandchildren Taylor Van Driest, Bailey Van Driest, Aaliyah Kuttler, Liberty Morrison, Mya Van Driest, Annie Van Driest, Donovan Van Driest, Ellis Van Driest, Finn Jenkins, Kameron Shreve and Lillian Carver.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Walter Bittle, Harold Bittle, Dean Bittle; sisters Betty Patterson, Beulah Garver.
Friends may visit Monday, January 20, 2025 from 12 to 1:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel. Funeral services will be follow at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Edna-Vandriest) with Rev. Dr. Paul E. Tracy Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Pentecostal Church at 323 Steele Ave, Ashland, Ohio or Gentiva Hospice at 112 Harcourt Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
