Edna Helen Wiles

Edna Helen Wiles, age 92, formerly of Big Rock, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 1, 2025 in hospice care at The Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris, IL. Helen was born March 4, 1933; the daughter of Herbert and Effie Beavers of Ravenden, AR. Helen was united in marriage to Gordan Wiles on April 8, 1950 and they enjoyed 43 years together before Gordan's passing.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She always loved gathering with family, filling the table with delicious home cooked meals and sharing stories about the good old days. There was always room for one more at the Wiles' table and all were welcomed. Many of life's problems were discussed and solved from her backyard swing in Big Rock.
Helen worked at home in the early days but later when she and Gordan moved to Illinois she worked at Raymond's Plastics, Western Electric, and then after Gordan's passing she became the best salesperson at the jewelry counter at Walmart. Helen helped many people find just the right sparkle to add to their life! She loved her bowling league days, shopping, travels, many friends, and her long relationship with Ed Evans. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Big Rock, IL.
Helen is survived by her four children, Larry (Carol) Wiles; Dennis (Susan) Wiles; Connie (Alan) Armes and Rhonda (Jerry) Ladson. In addition, she is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren: Nolan (Jessica) Wiles and their children, Autumn and Julianne; Marcus (Christie) Wiles and their children, Caleb and Brooks; Amie (Jason) Rosinski and their children, Nathan and Caden; Katie (Rob) Hartle and their children, Sienna, Ruby and Sadie; Jennifer ( Matthew) York and their children, Lydia and Ethan; Michelle (Brent) Manion and their children, Mikayla, Jonathan and Abigail; Tina ( John) Owen and their children, Asher and Laura; Brandy (Dave) VanOstrand and their children Dakota (Beth), Jaxxton, Atticus, Mazilynn, Morgan (Randy) Brown and their daughters, Kylee and Georgia; Torin and Alarrah Ladson.
Along with her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dana Ladson and siblings, Leona Archer, Gracie Norris, Don Beavers and Marion Sollami.
The family would like to recognize the many professional health care providers at The Gardens at Park Pointe with a special thank you to the staff of Lightways Hospice for their expert care, loving advice and services provided to Helen and her family.
On Monday, October 6, 2025 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL the family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. Interment will be at the West Big Rock Cemetery.
