Edsel Lee Fitzwater 85 of Grandview passed away Jan 11 2025 at CAMC in Charleston, West Virginia.
He was born on November 30, 1939, in Beckley, West Virginia, the son of the late Evert and Ruth Fitzwater. He is preceded in death by a son Cameron Lee Taylor.
He was formerly employed by Smith and Stover Coal Company and Eaton Construction. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother-in-law Buddy Sexton and also enjoyed mud bogging and dirt track racing with his son Kevin Fitzwater.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Connie Fitzwater; son, Kevin Fitzwater and wife Lucy of Shady Spring, WV; special granddaughter, Alex Fitzwater and companion Caleb and special great granddaughter, Sarah Mills; three grandsons James Garris and wife Morgan, River and Connor Fitzwater; special nephew Cameron Purdue; special cousins George and Charles Bragg; lifelong friends, Billy Redden and Sherry Pierce.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Fitzwater, Rick Sexton, Caleb Grimmett, Cameron Purdue, Kevin Cook, Chris McMillian and honorary pallbearer, Buddy Sexton
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 16 at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 S. Oakwood Ave., Beckley, WV with Reverend Don Kelly officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
