After several months of bravely fighting throat cancer, Ed finally succumbed to the disease on June 7th, 2025. This was his second experience with cancer after having lost his sight to sinus cancer in 2012. He is survived by his loving partner of 26 years, Michael Thomas. He was born in Anderson Indiana to Zoila Garza Gomez and Alfredo Gomez. Ed was one of six brothers and one sister. After high school Ed enlisted in the Airforce and later moved to Spokane WA to attend Washington State University. Eventually ending up in Seattle, Ed worked for PBS, Seattle Art Museum and managed a nightclub. Ed had a positive impact on all whom met him, ready with a smile and a joke no matter how bad he felt. His presence will be forever missed.
