It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eduardo “Eddie” Merino.
Eduardo "Eddie", a loving father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2025, at the age of 31 years. He was born in Santa Fe, NM to Magdalena Baca and Leonardo Merino. Eddie spent most of his life in Albuquerque NM where he attended Atrisco Heritage High School.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Agustin Merino and uncle Jesus R. Baca. His legacy lives on through his daughter, Aubrey Estelle Merino; mother, Magdalena Baca; father, Leonardo Merino; siblings, Javier Lozoya, Alondra Idaly Loya, Leonardo Merino Jr., Leslie Paola Merino; Grandparents, Jesus Baca, Lydia Bencomo & Estela Almeida as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Eddie's Life Celebration will begin on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 with a visitation at 3:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary. Final viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be held at 1:00 pm at San Jose Parish, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Reception to follow at Tierra West Estates community park; 224 Atrisco Vista Blvd SW Albuquerque NM 87121.
Pallbearers will be Javier Lozoya, Leonardo Merino, Leonardo Merino Jr., Jesus Payan, Juan Carlos Baca, and Lorenzo Gallegos Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Baca, Lorenzo Gallegos Sr., and Fernando Gonzales.
