Edward Rogers Bennett

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elder Edward Rogers Bennett, who departed this life on February 22, 2026, at the age of 68. Elder Bennett was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A man of strong faith in God, he made it a priority to pray for and uplift his family. He was known for his loving spirit, wisdom, and dedication. Edward enjoyed fishing, drawing, and listening to music. He found joy in life's simple moments and cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. Through his kindness, faith, and strength, he touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He worked at Ochsner and was respected by many for his hard work and character. Edward Rogers Bennett will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for his family, and the many lives he touched. Edward leaves to cherish his memory to his loving wife, Kathleen Bennett; children: Melvin Bennett, Xylina Bennett, Zerita Bennett, and his honorary son James Bennett; stepchildren: Natasha Bedou, Latoya Lewis, and Rico Lewis, Jr.; beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will all miss him dearly. Family and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of His Life Service at Apostolic Outreach Center, 8358 Lake Forest Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70126 on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the Service to follow.
