Gail Bell Duplessis transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the age of 71. She was a native of the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. Gail was educated in the New Orleans Public School System attending George Washington Carver Sr. High School. She retired after building a legacy across many titles and accomplishments. As a bar owner her love for people shined the brightest. Gail was the beloved mother of Nicole (Kevin) Jackson Sr., Natalie (Stephen) Warren Sr., Jerry (Dea) Duplessis; stepmom to Sheila Franklin; grandmother to Brandy Watson, Preston Carmon IV, Shandria, Stephen Jr, & Shondra Warren, Chris Jackson; great-grandmother to Mark Anthony, Jr and MarQuan Robinson; sister of Christine (Carless) Wheeler Sr., Michael (Adra) Bell Sr., Lawrence (Linda) Clark, Annie (Kenneth) Walter, and Patricia (Donald) Taylor; and godchild Miquel Warren Jr. Her family will cherish her loving memories. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Shirley Bell Sr.; brothers Leroy and Gilbert Bell, Jr. and grandson Kevin Jackson, Jr. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 7, 2026, for 10:00 a.m. at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2100 St. Roch Avenue, NOLA 70117. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Rev. Corey Cooper, officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park. Guestbook Online: www.anewtraditionbegins.com (504)282-0600.
