Edward W. Bruns Jr.

Edward W. Bruns, Jr., passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center on October 9, 2025. Ed was born on June 20, 1942 to Edward and Maude Bruns in Rockford, Il. On October 19, 1968, he married the love of his life Barbara Bouska in Prairie Du Chien, WI. They spent 44 years raising their family in Milton, Wi until Barb's Passing on November 12, 2012. In 1960, he joined the United States Air Force but was medically discharged shortly after. Ed's 30-year career with Chrysler Corp-Belvidere Plant started in 1966. Following retirement, he worked for the School District of Milton as a custodian until 2013. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman. He found joy on Gibbs Lake, with his fishing buddies on their fly-in trips to Canada or hunting with his brother Ivan and nephews. Before becoming a devoted husband and father, he water skied with the Janesville Ski Club, now known as the Rock Aqua Jays. Ed loved to cook and bake. On a dare, he entered his cherry pie in a 4th of July pie contest and won 1st prize. Most of all, Ed loved his family immensely and he knew how much he was loved back. Ed is survived by his children; Bridgett (Barton) Christianson, Paul (Sarah Johnson) Bruns, Annette (Jim) Nagle. Grandchildren; Eric (Gina) Gudgeon, Sara Christianson, Brad (Morgan) Christianson, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Hayley and Rylee Bruns. Great grandchildren; Emilia, Isabel, Adrius, Amarion, Benelli, Ruger, Grayson, Naddie and Emery. His sisters; Sharon Traxler, Candee Bruns, Susan Pixler and Judi Bresnahan, Brother; Duane (Karen) Bruns and numerous nieces and nephews. He is now joined with all those he loved and left before him. Visitation will be held at Albrecht Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Milton, 828 S. Janesville Street, Milton, WI 53563 on Saturday October 25, from 10:00am until 12:00pm with a memorial service at 12:00pm.
