Edward Burke Obituary

He is survived by his wife Mary E Burke. Loving father of Joseph Burke(Brittany) and granddaughter Harper Burke. Pre-deceased by his brother Adrian Burke and sister Denise Hannon. Loving Uncle to William Hannon of Canton.
Edward was born in Boston and raised in Mattapan. He graduated from Boston Technical High School as valedictorian in 1972. Edward was a 1976 graduate of Boston College and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk Law School in 1988.
Edward's true passion was teaching. He taught mathematics in the Milton School system for 35 years. He retired in 2011. He also enjoyed coaching youth and high school sports in both the Weymouth and Milton communities. Edward enjoyed watching all sports especially his beloved Boston Red Sox. He was a season ticket holder.
Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church 1203 Commercial Street, Weymouth MA 02189 on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to then MSPCA of Boston.

Mr. Burke was liked and well-respected at MHS when I was a student there. I hope he enjoyed his retirement. My sincere condolences to his family.

I taught with Ed for many years. He was a dedicated hardworking teacher. Both my daughters enjoyed Ed´s classes. Ed was prepared, thorough and fair to all his students

Deepest sympathy to the family
I had him for homeroom at Cunningham in 8th grade and again for Algebra 10th grade at MHS
He was a great teacher, put up with us girls passing notes in his class

Rest in peace Eddy. Will always remember all the fun times you I and Bill used to play street hockey. We had a lot of fun in our younger days. Hopefully your pains and suffering are gone and you can be at peace
