Edward Joseph Carda, a resident of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away at his home Thursday, November 21, 2024. Ed was born July 22, 1937, in Sioux City, Iowa, and was 87 years old.
Ed grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, before joining the U.S. Air Force to serve his country. After his honorable discharge, he found work in inventory management as a contractor working for multiple companies in Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. It was on one such contract in Vietnam that he met his wife, Nhut Carda. After working overseas, he worked locally at SRC-Sequel-Jasper, and Regal Beloit until his retirement at the age of 70. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Willow Springs, and was very active with the church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also very involved in the community through volunteer service at MUNCH and through his work efforts in the local American Legion chapter. Ed loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed western movies, league bowling, his farm, and woodworking. He sold cabinets, furniture, and butcher blocks, but later transitioned to building for friends and family only. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Carda and Violet Talbert.
He is survived by his wife, Nhut Carda; his children, Eddie, Monica, Mark, David, Thao, and Mike, along with their respective spouses; his siblings, Richard, Barbara, and Donna. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held for Ed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Willow Springs on Tuesday, November 26th, at 12:00 P.M. with Father Nicholas Newton officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Willow Springs with full military honors.
