Edward Reidhead, 60, was born on January 13th, 1963 in Los Angeles, California to Lawrence Boyd Reidhead and Maria Del Rosario Chavarria. Edward entered into eternal rest on January 22nd, 2023 in Whittier, California.
Although Ed was raised in a single parent family, he was surrounded by loving family and friends. He attended St. John's the Evangelist Catholic School and graduated in 1977. He then attended Daniel Murphy High School in West Los Angeles for one year and then attended both Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra California and Montebello High School in the city of Montebello.
Throughout his youth Ed was very popular and had many friends. He was a gifted athlete who frequently stood out amongst others for sports. At St. John's he was the school star athlete, and at Daniel Murphy he started on the schools freshman basketball team. During his sophomore year at Mark Keppel High School he was able to start on the varsity basketball team because of his immense talent. Ed had the potential to continue his basketball career into college but like many students he found academics very challenging.
Upon completing his four years of high school Ed, like many young men, could not find his calling in life. He tried different things but nothing seemed to work out until he decided to go back to school and earn his GED and a college degree in science and biology. Ed graduated from Whittier College with a BS in both science and biology and ended up working for the State of California for over 15 years.
During Ed's personal life, he met Mary Adamo and the two had two children, Connor and Duncan. Although Ed and Mary did not stay together, Ed made it his priority to stay close with his sons. In November of 2017, Ed lost his son Connor to a car accident. Although Ed was devastated he moved on with his life and continued to live the best life he thought he could.
In 2020, Ed was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and although he fought for his health as hard as he could, Ed entered the kingdom of heaven on January 22nd 2023 surrounded by his family. Although Ed will be missed, he will never be forgotten.
Edward is survived by his loving family: Son - Duncan Reidhead, Mother - Maria Chavarria and Larry, Siblings - David Miranda (Patty) and Janice Gardea, Nieces and Nephews - David Miranda Jr., Anthony Gardea (Ashly), Amanda Gardea (Brett), Adam Gardea (Crystal), Kianna Miranda, and Max Miranda, and six Great Nieces and Nephews.
Edward was reunited at the gates of Heaven with his son - Connor Reidhead and grandmother - Noema Chavarria.
Condolences for the family can be sent through our website.
