Edward Richard “Rich” Day passed away at home March of 2025, at age 60, following an extended illness. Rich lived in Nutley, NJ, graduating from Nutley High School, earned an Associate’s Degree in Business at Bergen Community College and a Bachelor of Science (Magna Cum Laude) degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
After marriage he moved to Lake Hiawatha, NJ, then to Jefferson, NJ.
Rich started his career as an auto mechanic and enjoyed vintage muscle cars rebuilding a 1966 Nova SS while listening to music from the oldies to new artists being a big fan of the Beatles. Years later, Rich achieved the position of IT specialist for UPS.
Amongst his other hobbies he was an avid sports fan (GO METS!), collecting baseball cards, NASCAR fan, camping with his family and in his desire to always learn new things became a self- taught amateur astronomer. Rich was a very kind and devoted husband to his wife Janine of which they were married 35 years and a wonderful father to their children Michael and Christina.
