Edward Allen Drake, 70, of Wellington, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2024.
He was born March 26, 1954, in Oberlin, Ohio to the late Elmer and Freeda {Jett} Drake.
Al was a graduate of Black River High School where he also worked as a custodian for 31 years before retiring.
He was very religious and a devoted member of Faith Chapel Church in Mansfield, which he loved attending.
He was a dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He adored each one of them and spent all the time with them that he could. One of his favorite things he enjoyed was fishing and loved taking his grandchildren along with him. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
Al will be deeply missed by his son Jim Drake; grandchildren Bryonna, Marcus, Chyanne, Dallas and Skylar; great-grandchildren Leeland, Delilah, Legacy and Haysten; brothers Johnny Drake, Steve Drake and Phil Dawson; sister Beverly Drake.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his son Edward Allen Drake, Jr., brother Mike Drake and sister Kitty Afzal.
Friends may call on Friday, May 24th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Funeral services will begin promptly at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor A.J. from Faith Chapel officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
