Edward Duckett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral & Cremation Services and Cemetery - North Olmsted on Dec. 16, 2025.
Edward "Fast Eddie" Duckett Jr., age 78, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away on December 14, 2025.

Edward was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on September 21, 1947, to the late Virginia Jo. Loving raised by his late grandparents Arvel and Lavada Davidson He is survived by his siblings Theresa and Sherry (Tony); his children Carol, Keith, and Lisa; grandchildren Laura (Ben), Eric (Amber), Chad (Maggie), Brittany (Jeff), and Taylor; great-grandchildren Natalya, Aiden, Jaxon, Ashton, and Stella; and nieces and nephews Tracy, Diana, Joseph, Matthew, Katie, and Jason.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, and his siblings Shirley and Arlie.

Edward grew up in Chattanooga, where he met his wife Linda at the age of 15. Together they celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage. Seeking opportunity, they moved to Ohio, where Edward began his career at Ford. Though the early years were difficult, his perseverance and hard work paid off. He proudly retired after 38 years with the company, having built a strong foundation for his family.

Edward was known for his gentle, kind, and generous spirit. He loved to talk and made everyone feel welcome. An avid sports fan, he played softball, basketball, and ping pong well into his 70s. He especially loved Christmas and the joy of giving gifts, delighting in the smiles of his family. He never spoke unkind words and was always ready to help-though he joked he'd give you the shirt off his back, but not his last candy bar. His favorite line, remembered fondly by many, was: "Come back when you can stay longer"
