Edward Duffy Obituary

He was born June 21, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Nell Comer Duffy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy, Ray, Joe and Larry; a sister, Dorothy; and brothers-in-law, Terry and Frank Templin.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Eileen Templin Duffy; brothers, Mickey (Linda), Pat (Janee), Tom (Beverly) and Jay (Kathy); a special brother-in-law, Timothy (Claudia) Templin; brother-in-law, Howard (Barbara) Templin; sister-in-law, Geneva (Steve Fisher) Templin; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the IBEW 141 and retired from Warwood Armature.
For more than 30 years, he was a referee in the Ohio Valley sports arena, officiating both basketball and football games locally, throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. Ed was honored in 1986 for his devotion and dedication to the craft of officiating in both sports by the Ohio Valley Board of Football and Basketball Officials. In July 2003, he was named an honorary official by the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference for the OVAC All Star Football Classic honoring 34 years of service and "A job well done!"
If anyone wishes to make a memorial contribution in Ed's memory, please make a donation to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2111 Market St., Wheeling, WV 26003 or do a kind deed for someone, such as paying kindness forward, as Ed did throughout his life.
There will be no visitation or service.

Dear Eileen and family.
I was sorry to read of Ed's passing. I remember so many good times I had with the two of you and your brother Terry when we dated so many years ago. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
