Edward "Ed" T. Dzike, age 76, of McHenry IL, passed away August 10, 2025. Loving husband to Christine, née Barda, for 51 wonderful years. Devoted father to Todd (Kelly) Dzike, Leslie Dzike, and Carrie (Dennis Coveyou) Dzike. Loving brother to Jean (Larry) Zabinski, and Bill (the late Mary) Dzike. Dear brother-in-law to Irene (Norb) Wojtanowski, and Jeanette (John) LoBosco. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beloved "grand paw-rent" to Mavis, Cheech and Deedee. Preceded in death by parents Edward and Eleanore Dzike, in-laws Antonina and Bert Barda, and his beloved dog, Rudy.
Ed was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering love for the outdoors. A lifelong Cubs fan, Ed was among the blessed few who lived to see the Cubs end their 108-year drought. One of his most cherished memories was attending Game 5 of the World Series with his children. He loved to watch and play golf and enjoyed fishing throughout his life. Though Ed had many achievements throughout his life, his family was his greatest joy. He will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held, Tuesday August 19, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL, from 3:00-7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, August 20 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1401 N Richmond Rd, McHenry, IL at 11:00am. Interment private.
