Edward Eddie Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maryland Cremation Services on Mar. 2, 2026.
In the early hours of February 26, 2026, Lester Edward Brantner Jr. (Eddie), surrounded by his family, passed peacefully into eternity. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, March 4th at 1:00 pm. at St. Matthew Presbyterian Church, 4001 Bel Pre Rd, Silver Spring MD 20906. The church phone number is 301-598-4400.

He is survived by his wife Konni Marquart Brantner, his daughter Amy Brantner, his two sisters, Toni and Nancy Brantner, his sister-in-law, Karen Winkler and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both his parents, Lester and Leona Brantner.

Eddie courageously fought lymphoma off and on for almost 2 years, but ultimately, the cancer won.

Eddie was born on September 26, 1954. He was a lifelong resident of the Rockville, MD area and spent his career with Mongomery County's government.

Eddie was known for his quiet presence. His greatest joy was being with his family; his greatest pride was his daughter. A master of many skills, he was the" go to man" in his family, his church and his neighborhood. He was an honest and faithful man who loved his family, took pride in his home, adored his cars, cheered on the South Carolina Gamecock, tolerated the Washington Commanders, enjoyed his movies, and was very involved and committed to his church. Besides St. Matthew, Eddie was a long-time participant in Camp Joy, a youth-oriented work camp.

The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his memory to St. Matthew Presbyterian Church, 4001 Bel Pre Rd, Silver Spring MD 20906.
